Introduction to Mutter

Mutter is the window manager for GNOME. It is not invoked directly, but from GNOME Session (on a machine with a hardware accelerated video driver).

This package is known to build and work properly using an LFS-8.2 platform.

libinput-1.10.0, Wayland-1.14.0, wayland-protocols-1.13, and Xorg-Server-1.19.6 (with Xwayland). Additionally, GTK+-3.22.28 needs to be built with Wayland support.

Install Mutter by running the following commands:

./configure --prefix=/usr --disable-static &&
make

This package does not come with a test suite.

Now, as the root user:

make install

--disable-static: This switch prevents installation of static versions of the libraries.

Installed Programs: mutter

Installed Libraries: libmutter.so

Installed Directories: /usr/{lib,include}/mutter

mutter	is a Clutter based compositing GTK+ Window Manager.
`libmutter.so`	contains the Mutter API functions.
